Effortless Gardening
A Workshop following the
Feldenkrais Method® of Awareness through Movement®
(This is an advance notice and fees and class numbers are not yet available.)
Too often the pain in the gardener’s body dampens the joy of gardening.
Don’t let it happen to you! Instead, feel great after a day in the garden.
The Effortless Gardening program shows you how.
The Effortless Gardening program is based on the Feldenkrais Method of lessons in Awareness through Movement. You will be performing gentle, attentive movements that will help you gain a greater awareness of the body part coordination that makes for safe, effective action in the garden, and elsewhere. You will also be developing your sensitivity and respect for your comfort-in-action.
The program includes using long- and short-handled tools, bending, lifting and carrying motions, among others.
A training package with one videotape, two audio tapes and program notes is also available for optional, separate purchase. (available through http://www.feldenkrais-resources.com/products.htm)
The workshop meets Saturday afternoon, 2:00 – 4:30 pm at Fairlington Community Center in Room 1.
