The Program

I aim to give you an overview of the Feldenkrais Method. About 1/4 of the time I will be explaining about the history and principles and the rest of the time you will be doing something. During the movement part, you will do one short sequence sitting on a chair and a longer sequence lying down on a mat. I will also offer each person who so wishes a short experience of the work through touch.

Registration

It is free, but registration is required.
       Please contact me, by phone,
703-751-2111, or email, mailto:mmchugh@wellnessinmotion.com, by 6 pm of the previous Thursday.

For Whom is the Class Intended

This class is open to anyone who is new to me. In addition, it is open to anyone who already knows me and accompanies a new person.

What to Wear, What to Bring

Please wear loose-fitting clothes in which you feel free to move, preferably not jeans, and women, pants rather than a skirt. I will provide mats and chairs. I will ask, if it is ok for you, to leave your shoes at the door.

If you bring a willingness to explore something new, that will be very welcome!

Location and Parking

My office is in the Landmark section of Alexandria.

The address is 101 S. Whiting Street #207.

It is a high rise, Landmark Tower. On the outside there is a sign “Landmark Tower, Residential Apartments.” This is only partially true. Thirteen of the 16 floors are residences, but the first three are commercial. I am on the second floor.

There are free, outdoor parking spaces on three sides of the building. Park anywhere, except where labeled “Handicapped,” etc.

There are signs at the entrance to the parking lot that say “We tow.” But you don't have to be concerned because they only tow overnight: from 9pm until 7 am..

Directions

Landmark Tower is in the SE corner of the intersection of Duke Street with 395.

From 395: Take exit 3A, Duke Street, east. If you have been driving south, you will cross over 395. As soon as you do, move quickly right. Right on S. Walker Street. Right on Stevenson Ave. Right on S. Whiting Street; you will see Landmark Tower on the left.

From Old Town: Come out Duke Street until the last light before 395. If you would go right, you would go into Landmark Mall. Instead, left on S. Walker Street. Right on Stevenson Ave. Right on S. Whiting Street. You will see Landmark Tower on the left.
